The primary responsibility of the Product Owner during the Sprint is indeed to work with the Developers to prepare for the next sprint. This involves refining the Product Backlog, ensuring that it is prioritized and that the items are well-defined so that the team can effectively address them in future iterations. The Product Owner collaborates closely with the Developers to clarify requirements and adjust the backlog based on feedback and insights gained during the Sprint, making sure that the team's focus aligns with stakeholder needs and the overall product vision.

While the other options pertain to activities that might occur in a Scrum framework, they do not accurately represent the key role of the Product Owner during the Sprint. For instance, assigning tasks to team members is typically the responsibility of the Scrum Team, particularly the Developers during their Sprint Planning. Conducting daily standups is a practice led by the Scrum Master to foster communication among the team, and monitoring team members' performance is outside the scope of the Product Owner's responsibilities, as they focus more on product value rather than individual performance.
